Ammo

Shop handgun, rifle, rimfire and shotgun ammo in one place. We list over 7,300 ammo products from Federal, Winchester, Remington, Fiocchi, Hornady and Nosler, from bulk FMJ for the range to defensive hollow points and premium hunting loads.

How to choose the right ammo

Start with your firearm. The correct cartridge is stamped on the barrel or slide, and it has to match exactly. A 5.56 NATO chamber can safely fire .223 Remington, but a .223 chamber should not fire 5.56, and .300 Blackout should never go near a 5.56 rifle. When in doubt, check the owner's manual.

Next, pick the bullet for the job. Full metal jacket (FMJ) is the affordable choice for practice. Jacketed hollow points (JHP) expand on impact and are the standard for self-defense. For hunting, soft point, polymer tipped, bonded and solid copper bullets are designed to expand reliably on game.

Finally, think about volume. Boxes of 20 to 50 rounds are great for trying a load, while bulk cases bring the cost per round down for regular range trips.

Is steel case ammo bad for my gun?

Steel case ammo works well in many firearms and costs less, but the cases cannot be reloaded and some indoor ranges do not allow it. Check your range rules and your manufacturer's guidance.
