RIFLE ROUNDS

Shop centerfire rifle ammo in 5.56 NATO, .223 Remington, .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7.62x39, .300 Blackout, .30-06 and more. We list over 2,600 rifle loads from Federal, Hornady, Winchester, Nosler, Remington and HSM, including range FMJ, hunting and match ammo.

Match the load to the job

For range days and training, FMJ and steel case loads keep costs down. For hunting, choose an expanding bullet: soft points and polymer tipped bullets for deer and similar game, bonded or solid copper bullets for deeper penetration on large game. California and other lead-restricted areas require lead-free loads like solid copper. For precision shooting, open tip match (OTM) and boat tail hollow point (BTHP) bullets deliver the best consistency.

Double check chamber compatibility. A 5.56 NATO chamber safely fires .223 Remington, but a .223-only chamber should not fire 5.56. .308 Winchester and 7.62x51 NATO are similar but not identical, so follow your rifle maker's guidance. Never load .300 Blackout into a 5.56 rifle, since the round can chamber and cause a dangerous failure.

Rifle Ammo FAQ

What grain is best for deer?

In .308 Winchester and .30-06, 150 to 180 grain expanding bullets are classic deer loads. In 6.5 Creedmoor, 120 to 143 grain hunting bullets are popular.

Is 5.56 the same as .223?

Close, but not the same. 5.56 NATO runs at higher pressure. A 5.56 chamber can fire both; a .223-only chamber should only fire .223 Remington.

What is subsonic rifle ammo?

Ammo loaded below the speed of sound, around 1,050 fps, so it is much quieter through a suppressor. .300 Blackout is the most common subsonic rifle round.
