Why choose dense non-toxic shot

Bismuth and tungsten based shot are denser than steel, so they carry more energy downrange and pattern well at longer distances. Bismuth is soft enough to be a popular choice for older shotguns that are not rated for steel.

Tungsten Super Shot (TSS) is the densest option available and has become the go-to for long range turkey loads, often in smaller shot sizes like #7 or #9. Dense shot costs more per shell, so many hunters pattern a few rounds and save it for the hunt.
