OPTICS

Find the right glass for hunting, competition and defense. We list over 7,700 optics from Trijicon, Warne, Sig Sauer, Burris, Weaver and Talley, including rifle scopes, red dots, rangefinders, binoculars, thermal and night vision, plus the rings and mounts to put them on.

Choosing an optic

Match the optic to your distance. Red dots and holographic sights are fastest inside 100 yards and work great on handguns, shotguns and AR-15s. Low power variable optics (LPVOs) like a 1-6x or 1-8x cover close range and mid range. Higher magnification scopes such as 4-16x or 5-25x are built for long range and precision shooting.

Key specs to compare: magnification range, objective lens size (bigger gathers more light but sits higher), tube diameter (1 inch, 30mm or 34mm, which sets your ring size), reticle type, and focal plane. First focal plane reticles scale with magnification, while second focal plane reticles stay the same size.

Do not forget mounting. You need rings or a mount that match your tube diameter and your rail, plus the right height to clear the barrel and give you a comfortable cheek weld.

Optics FAQ

What is the difference between MOA and MRAD?

Both are angular measurements for adjusting your scope. 1 MOA is about 1 inch at 100 yards, and 1 MRAD is 3.6 inches at 100 yards. Pick a scope whose turrets and reticle use the same unit.

What size rings do I need?

Match the ring diameter to your scope tube (1 inch, 30mm or 34mm) and choose a height that clears your objective lens and barrel.
